The coconut chutney is South Indian in origin and is traditionally served as an accompaniment to South Indian snacks like idlis, vadas, dosas and uttapams. Always use fresh coconut for making this chutney. Unlike the tomato chutney, you do not need to cook coconut chutney. All you do is placing the ingredients in a food processor and blend them together (traditionally coconut chutney is made using a grinding stone).
